Spent a lovely weekend in Vienna to Celebrate my Sister Veronicas’ 40th Wedding Anniversary, and as we are both artists we squeezed in a visit to the Klimt “Kiss” collection in Belvedere Upper Museum.

·     Firstly ..what an amazing Palacial venue, it was awe  inspiring with the exquisite architecture. High ceilings and glittering chandeliers reigned supreme.

·     Then we took a tour of the art which was a feast for the eyes.

·     It’s always emotional when you view in person such an iconic piece of art such as” the Kiss”,and of course we had to get in the obligatory selfie. however I was amazed at Klimt’s other works also his fantastic photo realistic portrait skills. He was known as “ a painter of Women” which was strikingly obvious .

·     Loved the paintings and found the exhibition very inspiring .there were also beautiful works by Monet and Rodin wh rank in my top 10 favourite artists.

·     Overall it was the highlight of our Vienna trip but we also had fantastic food in the Central Cafe, the Bank restaurant and Theatre cafe.

·     The architecture of Vienna is wonderful, the people were friendly and as for the artisan shops, well it was fortunate we only had underseat baggage as the purse could have taken a big hit otherwise!
